REVELATIONS FOR TODAY by Pastor Michael Obata
Isaiah 26:3 – Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
The current system of things in the world poses a challenge to Christians and non-Christians alike. However, we have the advantage because although we are in this world, we are not of this world (John 17: 14 & 16). We have the Spirit of the Living GOD in us and with us, Hallelujah! People experience tribulations all over the world, but for us Christians, these tribulations are but challenges. Because we are in Christ, these tribulations are but for a moment and are working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. CHRIST JESUS said in John 16: 33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
As children of GOD, we have to refuse to be overwhelmed by whatever challenges we may face; that is why the HOLYSPIRIT through the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things – admonishes and encourages us to be mindful of our thoughts and meditations of our heart. Children of GOD dwell in the scriptures and not the current challenge. Dwelling on the negative situation cripples a man’s faith in GOD, the peace of GOD that guards his heart, and these negative thoughts, if not nipped in the bud, affect a man’s confessions and, in turn, their destiny and then manifest into strongholds. Therefore, let your thoughts and imaginations be on things that are noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and praiseworthy.
No matter the challenge, keep thinking and imagining a positive outcome, dwelling in the word of GOD, and praying fervently with thanksgiving; you will find your spirit stirred in the direction the LORD has prepared for you: a way out of the challenge. So be of good cheer because you are more than a Conqueror in CHRIST JESUS (John 16:33). The scriptures in 1 John 2:14 say, “I have written to you, fathers (spiritually mature), Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men (those growing in spiritual maturity), Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one. As we continue to dwell in the word of GOD, which is our most important weapon, we shall overcome every obstacle or challenge to the Glory of GOD. The best part is that for a Spirit-filled (mature) Christian, the challenge is only a stepping stone or ladder to a better life filled with the glory of GOD. GOD permitted it because it is designed to work out for your good. Praise GOD!!!
