Steadfast Under Trial
James 1:12
Amplified Bible (AMP)
12Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him
The world today poses diverse challenges. Some Christians have found their faith and trust in GOD diminished because of these challenges and difficulties they face. Wickedness and negativity are on the increase. Christians all over the world are facing diverse trials and tribulations. Blessed be GOD our Heavenly Father, who has given us victory in Christ Jesus. John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [f]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” The most important thing to GOD is the salvation of humanity. GOD relies on us to spread the good news of salvation (His love) in Christ Jesus. This is our primary purpose on earth to ensure that those who are yet to be saved receive salvation through us.
Our Lord Jesus Christ in Mark 10:29-30 says “……“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, there is no one who has given up a house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30who will not receive a hundred times as much now in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms—along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.” GOD did not promise a life free of challenges. However, HE promised we shall always be victorious. IT IS ONLY A TEST OF OUR FAITH. Let us therefore remain steadfast under trials and tribulation, knowing our FATHER has made a way of escape. Interestingly, the theme verse describes a Christian experiencing trials as blessed. As a Christian, GOD permits challenges in our way to build our faith, our trust, and love for HIM and others. Trials bring out spiritual gifts and cause us to align with our GOD-given destiny. Consistent worship reveals the Lord’s power and assures victory.
Sometimes it can be overwhelming. However, we must remain strong and faithful to our LORD and every responsibility given to us. For our FATHER is ever faithful, and HE is not unjust to forget the labour of our love (Hebrews 6:12). We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Revelation 2:26 says, “And to the one who is victorious and continues in My work until the end, I will give authority over the nations.” If we remain steadfast to the end, we shall be victorious here on earth and receive the eternal crown of life. Glory to GOD!
Scripture meditation:
John 15:18-21; 2 Corinthians 2:15-16, 1 Corinthians 15:58 & Proverbs 29:27.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending me out into the world with the good news of Your saving power and eternal life for humanity in Your Son, Christ Jesus. I receive the grace and strength to be faithful and remain steadfast even amid trials. In JESUS’ NAME.
Confession:
I refuse to be discouraged. I remain steadfast, for I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus!

Solid Food
Hebrews 5:12-14
New King James Version (NKJV)
12For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the [b]oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14But solid food belongs to those who are [c]of full age, that is, those who by reason of [d]use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Every society strives on growth. It is a natural law as much as it is a spiritual law. GOD’s desire is for HIS children to grow to spiritual maturity so that they are not tossed back and forth by their ignorance of the schemes of satan and his cohorts of darkness. There are two types of Born-again Christians: the baby Christian and the spiritually mature Christian (1 Corinthians 3:1-3). The baby Christian must be fed with milk all the time, even if they have been Christians for years. They lack spiritual wisdom, knowledge and understanding. But the mature Christian irrespective of how long they have been born again, is filled with spiritual wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Their lives are an example for others to follow. You can easily recognise Christ in the way they speak, their conduct, actions, and their lifestyle. The glory of GOD is so evident in their lives. They blossom in all that they do (Psalm 1).
The reason for church gatherings and the way Christ structured the church (Ephesians 4:11-12) shows us the importance GOD places on spiritual growth. Ephesians 4:13 says, “until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” GOD desires that we come to full knowledge of CHRIST, the WORD of GOD. That is why GOD, through the HOLY SPIRIT, commends us to the grace of HIS word, which is able to build us up and thereby receive the full promised inheritance (Acts 20:32). This promised inheritance is received through full knowledge of GOD’s word. This is the realm of glory where we experience perfect peace, favour, and we see the full manifestation of GOD’s glory in our lives. The mature Christian experiences divine prosperity, divine health, progress & success. A life of the supernatural. A place where his life is not determined by the economy or the circumstances of man and the world. When we desire the solid food of GOD’s word, we have full control of our lives, and we walk in GOD’s plan: the divine destiny. A place of bliss is where the mature Christian operates. Through the solid food of GOD’s word, a Christian matures spiritually, and every spiritual blessing appropriated to him/ her is manifested in the physical.
The theme scripture says “…. And when a person is still living on milk it shows he isn’t very far along in the Christian life and doesn’t know much about the difference between right and wrong.” When Christian’s lacks the solid food, they make mistakes; their lives are impacted by everything that goes on in their environment, be it economic, political, or social turmoil. On the other hand, spiritually mature Christians (who depend on solid food) know who they are in Christ Jesus. The solid food of GOD’s word causes us to be filled with spiritual insight through revelation knowledge (Matthew 22:29). The word of GOD does not depart from their mouth. They meditate on the Word of GOD day and night. Desire the solid food, and your life will be a life of bliss: A shining light, and men shall call you the blessed & favoured of the LORD.
Scripture meditation:
1 Corinthians 14:20; Ephesians 4:11-14; 2 Peter 3:19-18; & Colossians 1:9-10.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I give you praise and thanks for the Grace of your Word that causes me to grow to spiritual maturity. Father, make me desire the solid food of Your WORD that shall cause me to increase in every spiritual knowledge and walk in every spiritual wisdom. In Jesus’ name.
Confession:
I am increasing in spiritual maturity, for the solid food of GOD’s word is at work in me.

The Living WORD
John 1:1-4
New King James Version (NKJV)
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, ………. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Some Christians place a lot more emphasis on Christ Jesus as the man who died on the cross for their sins. Christ Jesus is a whole lot more. HE is the infallible word of GOD, just as the theme scriptures say. HE is the very essence of life, and all things were made through HIM. We are born of this living and everlasting word of GOD (1 Peter 1:23). The first epistle of John, describing Christ Jesus in verses 1 to 4, tells us how the apostles handled (wherewith) eternal life manifested in the flesh. And through the HOLYSPIRIT when we study, meditate, and digest the WORD, our fellowship is with the Father & his Son Jesus Christ, which makes our joy to be full. You cannot separate a man from his word; a man’s word tells a lot about who he is, and the Scriptures describe this in Proverbs 4:23-24: “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put perverse lips far from you. GOD and HIS word are one, which is why CHRIST Jesus tells us HE and the FATHER are one, and that everything HE says is from the FATHER.
Christ Jesus in John 6:63 says “…………The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”. As we study, meditate, and digest the Word, we become deeply rooted in Christ Jesus, and we abide in Him, for without Christ we can do nothing (Colossians 2:6-7, John 15:5). Just as the body responds to food, so also GOD has programmed our spirit to respond to His WORD. Information affects our thoughts, which in turn are deposited in our spirits. Therefore, anything inconsistent with GOD’s word should be dismissed immediately. It is very important to feed our spirit with the right information, namely the knowledge of GOD’s word. If a man feeds his body with inappropriate food, there will be problems in his body. Likewise, we feed our spirit with the word of GOD in order to be perfect and equipped for every good work which GOD has planned for us even before the foundations of the earth. Through GOD’s word we are built up, and we receive every inheritance that the LORD has promised (Acts 20:32).
The Word of GOD activates the anointing in you by the HOLYSPIRIT and when you give yourself entirely to it, your progress in life will be evident to all, and as you continue in it, you will save yourself and those around your sphere of influence. GOD gave us a principle for success in Joshua 1:8 (NIV) “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” and Psalms 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, …. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper”.
Be sure to keep the word of GOD in your heart at all times and let the words from your mouth (your confessions) be in line and in agreement with GOD’s word. The word of Christ dwelling in our hearts through faith and love makes us able to comprehend the full and accurate knowledge of Christ that causes us to be filled with all the fullness of GOD. Then you will start to experience GOD’s power at work in you. For with the word in our spirit and our lips we frame the course of our lives (Hebrews 11:3). A glorious Christian Life reigning on this earth as kings and priests unto GOD.
Scripture meditation:
Luke 11:28, Ephesians 3:14-21, John 10:30 & 12:49; Proverbs 11:9 & Hosea 4:6.
Prayer:
FATHER, I thank You for bringing me forth with Your living WORD. FATHER, make me to abide in Your WORD and for Your WORD to abide in me always. In JESUS’ NAME. Amen!
Confession:
The living WORD of GOD is at work in me!

After MY Heart
Acts 13:22
GOD’S Word Translation (GW)
22God removed Saul and made David their king. God spoke favorably about David. He said, ‘I have found that David, son of Jesse, is a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’
The state, desire and motive of one’s heart determines their worship. And in turn determines the manifestation of GOD’S blessings in their physical life. True worship starts from the heart. The outward appearance or profession of an individual may be deceptive to man, but not to GOD. That is why a Christian must allow the word of GOD to impact their spirit, which in turn impacts their words, actions and lifestyle. GOD looks at the heart of a man (Proverbs 20:27). The bible tells us in 1 Samuel 16:7, “So it happened, when they had come, he looked at Eliab [the eldest son] and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him.” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks [b]at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
We shouldn’t be Christians who are interested only in the acts of GOD and not HIS ways. We are created to worship HIM – to be the expression of HIS love and Glory. Let us therefore put HIS will and purpose in first place in our life’s agenda. GOD does not exist to do our bidding. Our love and service to GOD is not only important when we are faced with challenges. The big question is: would you still have zeal for GOD even when everything is blissful?
CHRIST JESUS in Matthew 15:8 says, “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honour Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” This can be likened to religious practice with no true worship. We shouldn’t be Christians that the only time we worship the FATHER in spirit and truth is when there is a gathering of the saints. We are the children of GOD and, as such, the light of this dark world. Let our light continue to always shine in every place. We shouldn’t be Christians who are too busy with secular activities like parties, socializing, career and putting their obligations to the things of GOD least in their agenda. These are practices that cause a child of GOD to lose sight of true repentance and what it means to be Christ-like (a true Christian and not a hypocrite).
A true Christian is one who lives for CHRIST (Galatians 2:20). One whose sole purpose is to seek after the FATHER’s will and purpose, and not seek the FATHER only when he/she is in need. Genuinely seek GOD’s will & purpose through fervent study and meditation of HIS word. Continuous fellowship with the HOLY SPIRIT through praying in the spirit will cause our hearts to be pure. Then we shall experience the Power and Glory of GOD in everything that concerns us. Be a true Christian: after GOD’S heart!
Scripture meditation:
James 4:3, Mark 1:14-15 (AMP), Matthew 5:8, & Psalms 103:7.
Prayer:
Glorious FATHER, thank you for a glorious life in CHRIST JESUS. I ask for an increase in spiritual knowledge and understanding that shall purify my heart, which will cause me to put You first in all things and fervently seek Your will and purpose for my life always. In JESUS NAME. Amen!
Confession:
I receive the Grace to be CHRIST- like, putting first the LORD’s agenda always!
