REVELATIONS FOR TODAY by Pastor Michael Obata
Jeremiah 33:3 – Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 ‘Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’
We all strive for success. As Christians, we must understand that when we are born again, our spirit becomes one with the SPIRIT of GOD, as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:17 – “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” This beautiful gift aligns our will, vision, and desires with GOD’s divine will and purpose for our lives. However, to experience the benefits of this gift, we must participate, cooperate, and be willing to follow the instructions, principles, order, and direction (IPOD) of the HOLY SPIRIT. It is now our responsibility to align ourselves with GOD’s will and purpose for our lives.
By doing so, we are led by the SPIRIT of GOD (walking according to the spirit and not according to the senses). This ensures that our plans are not driven by fear or selfishness. This way, we are guaranteed a life of good success and prosperity. GOD is our shield and our exceeding great reward. GOD’s thoughts for us are of good (Jeremiah 29:11). Even before the foundations of the earth, GOD’s mind for us was not pain, failure, retrogression, stagnancy, depression, or inferiority complex. GOD’s plan has always been for us to be victorious in every aspect of life. Even in the face of adversity or challenges, know that GOD permits them to align us with HIS will for progress, prosperity, and great success (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Inviting GOD into our situations shows our absolute trust and dependence on HIM. This is the first step in our walk of faith. Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith, it is impossible to please HIM: for he that comes to God must believe that HE is, and that HE is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM. Inviting GOD into our plans involves constant fellowship with the WORD of GOD. This way, we grow to maturity, and our senses are exercised to discern the will of GOD for our lives. Hebrews 5:14 “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Secondly, constant fellowship with the HOLY SPIRIT, especially through praying in the spirit, builds us up (Jude 1:20) and keeps us aligned with the divine destiny GOD has prepared for us.
Praying in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18 & 1 Corinthians 14:5,39) keeps us in tune with the SPIRIT of GOD, ensuring we do not miss HIS promptings and leading. In prayer, the HOLY SPIRIT shows us great and mighty things, and Angels are assigned on our behalf to ensure our triumph. This way, our plans (GOD’s plan) will always succeed. Delight yourself in the LORD (seek HIM and be responsive to HIS guidance) by putting HIS kingdom and righteousness first. Let your heart’s desire be based on love for GOD, love for the kingdom of GOD, love for righteousness, and love for humanity. This lifestyle keeps a constant invitation to GOD in our affairs and causes HIS mighty power to always be at work in us. For GOD, will do exceedingly abundantly above our heart’s desire (Ephesians 3:20). Inviting GOD allows us to live a stress-free life and guarantees we will always be victorious.
