1 John 4:4 – King James Version (KJV)
4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
This world presents diverse challenges, but as Christians, we are of good cheer because CHRIST JESUS has overcome the world. And these challenges, although sometimes they may be very overwhelming, are permitted for our good and GOD’S Glory. Fear could be so alarming that if not checked, it could lead to depression, disillusionment, and discouragement. Understand these are feelings based on the perception of one’s physical senses. Remember, as a Christian, you gave your life to CHRIST JESUS, and were saved from the corruption of this world and eternal damnation. Your inheritance of salvation includes eternal life and a prosperous life on earth. To enjoy and fulfil this promise, God the FATHER put HIS SPIRIT in you and with you. That is, Almighty GOD dwells in you. You became an extraordinary being (associate of the GOD-kind, 2 Peter 1:4). As Christians, do not respond with your senses but respond with your spirit. Some Christians doubt the efficacy of GOD’S word and HIS power. Remember how GOD delivered you in the past.
There are Christians who do not doubt GOD’S power, but they doubt HIS desire to fix their situation. For example, you find some Christians saying, “well I know GOD is powerful, and HE is real, but I don’t think GOD wants to fix my situation”, or “I am not worthy of GOD’S love or mercy”. If you were not, HE would not give you HIS SPIRIT. GOD is not interested in the wrong that you did, but HE is more interested in the reason you made the mistake. And HE wants to fix it. Your mistake could be a response to fear or selfishness. However, we have a loving and forgiving GOD. And as the scripture puts it in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. GOD is more than willing to turn it around for your good to make you trust HIM and be all HE has planned for you to be.
The SPIRIT of GOD (HOLY SPIRIT) in you guarantees your success and victory in this world (2 Corinthians 1:22). Let this be your consciousness, and learn how to live and operate as the GOD-kind (2 Peter 1:4), and you shall be triumphant in every situation. GOD will never leave you nor forsake you. However, you have a part to play. Focus on the positive outcome; let your thoughts, assumptions, and imagination be positive. Secondly, be prayerful, especially praying in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18). You will be amazed at how the LORD will bring you out of that predicament in a way you never thought possible and use the situation to even bless you. Lastly, and very importantly, be led by the SPIRIT of GOD that is in you and with you. GOD is moulding you into HIS divine nature – the perfect man in CHRIST. Put your absolute trust in GOD, and you will be amazed at how you will be like a tree planted by the riverside that even when drought comes (the challenges of life), you will still be bearing fruit (Jeremiah 17:8). Let your focus be on fulfilling GOD’s will and purpose for your life. Don’t give up on GOD, for HE will never give up on you!
